Posted by admin on November 30, 2009

i really want to do the splits but don’t no any great stretches.how long will it take and how long should i stretch daily.Thank You!

here are a couple of stretches but make sure you do jumping jacks are run in place before you do them so you can warm your body up.

butterfly stretch
after you do butterfly stretch put your legs strait out in front of you.
you could put your legs on a table and stretch over like you would do at bare.
stretch out ur quads.

Its you dont want to do that ……..

my legs are so freakin sore from stretching for splits!! plz helppp?

Posted by admin on November 30, 2009

ok so me and my cuzin stretch for the splits everyday, we have been stretching for 10 days now, in the last 3 day our legs suddenly got so sore and me and mycuzin cant go lower than we could in the first few days coz of our legs, my left leg is sore and my right leg is even more sore and same goes for my cuzin

P.s im 13 shes 11 and a half
should we still continue stretching, we really want to get our splits

plz help!!! thnx

B.A and most helpful gets 10 points!

thnx
i dont think i tore or pulled sumthing coz ino the feeling of a pulled/tore muscle coz i tore a muscle b4 and it stayed 7months till it healed
and its not just me its also my cuzin

You are probably sore because you are using muscles you don’t normally use, however you may have pulled something. Either way the pain will heal by itself so don’t worry. I recommend having a hot bath to relax your muscles and help ease the pain.

Good luck with the splits =D

Stretching, Soreness, Splits?

Posted by admin on November 30, 2009

Okay, so I go to a jazz class every week. Me and my friend got an extra class yesterday, and I loved it because we had one-on-one time with our teacher. So I learned a new part of the dance that I missed on Wednesday and we do this body roll up (hopefully you know what I’m talking about) from laying down. So I was getting really close and we had to go. Today my abdominal area is sooooo sore. Like it hurts to laugh or sneeze. I just wanted to know that if I kept dancing/exercising while its sore… will it make it easier for the next time or just end up hurting me more?
I also want to know, if stretching every other day other than everyday is as effective for getting splits. This is my first year back to dancing, by the way. My goal is to get my right leg splits (and possible left leg) by the end of the summer (I’m taking a private ballet class and regular jazz class).
Thanks for any answers!! =D

Soreness is painful, but good! Haha.
It means your abs are getting stronger.
So that means, most likely in a few days it won’t hurt as much.
You need to maybe strech your stomach muscles though.
I know it sounds weird, but when your sore is the best time to strech.
Because your muscles will get use to the feeling of being overworked.
About the splits,
take it from me, I’ve been dancing since I was a 2 years old.
And just this year I was able to get my splits! Haha.
Streching every other day is a good idea, because you don’t want to overstrech and pull a muscle [ouch!].
So just continue streching your splits every other day, and maybe each day go down a little farther [of course it'll hurt a little more, but you'll know your a little bit closer to reaching your goal.]

Good luck!

How to do improve heel stretch and learn all 3 splits?

Posted by admin on November 29, 2009

I’m twelve years old and I’ve always wanted to do gymnastics and stuff but never had the time. Now I want to learn how to do the splits and improve my heel stretches. Problem: I have really long legs and it is hard to straighten my heel stretch. Also good stretches and ways to keep my legs/knees straight during gymnastics? I also have that problem in splits, heel stretches, cartwheels, etc. Thanks in advance!

i got my middle split by lying on my back on the floor with my bum on the wall and my legs at a 90 degree angle to my body (resting on the wall) then open your legs down the wall and then get your book and read while in that position!!!

I got my right splits by doing them while watching tv with cushions under my bum! i had 3 cushions, then 2, then 1, then NONE!!!

Good Luck!!! =D

Stretching your splits?

Posted by admin on November 29, 2009

I need to get my splits – and fast! What are the best ways to do this and the best stretches?

If you just try to go down as far as you can to your left side, right side, and then middle you will start to work farther and farther down, until you hit the floor! Worked for me! Hope this helps.

Im Having Trouble With Heel Stretches, Splits, Toe Touches, And Scorpions?

Posted by admin on November 29, 2009

im having trouble with my heel stretches, scorpions, and splits and toe touches. Does anyone have any tips on stretching or anything to help me out? Im not crazy flexible but i am a little flexible. Also, im trying out fer high School Poms/ Dance next year so does anyone know what im supposed to be able to do or have any suggestions on what i should know or do or start working on in the summer? please help :] Thankss.

Just keep stretching your splits every day, and push yourself as well. As for your toe touches and scorpions, flexibility can only get you so far. I think you need to improve on core strength. This was my dilemma when I was working on these types of steps. If you have better extension when stretching than when you’re doing these movements, then core strength is what you need to work on. Also for scorpions: back strength!!!!

For Tryouts: high kicks on both sides. leaps. y-scale both sides. double pirrouette both sides. chaine. Russian–aka 2nd leap…..and obviously, be able to actually dance.=] I think youve got that covered, though.

Good Luck!

How long should I stretch a day if I want to achieve the splits as quick as possible?

Posted by admin on November 29, 2009

Is it possible for anyone to split if they have done enough stretching or are splits accomplished by certain people only? I stretch alot everyday and each day I still can’t fall into the full splits… I’m starting to feel that I’m wasting my time! Any help?

Be carful who you listen to!

Having someone "Force" you down,or "Bouncing" is a very good way to cause an injury.
That will set you back in progress or worse require surgery!

Instant coffee,instant soup,instant photos,instant skills,now
"Instant Splits!"

I am going to start banging my head aganist the wall !!!!
