Martial Arts Stretching Splits Video

This is a relatively good video on using a isometric stretching static passive method of the stretching splits exercise. The instructor mistakingly identifies it as a static active stretch. Note how he is contracting the antagonistic muscles of the inner thigh (isometric stretching) and holding his position (static stratching), using his bodyweight to assist with the flexibility stretches (passive stretching).  This one martial arts stretching exercise takes advantage of multiple methods for its effectiveness. While the subject of this video is obviously an advanced student, these techniques can be used by less seasoned martial artists to help increase their range of motion. Just be sure to listen to your body when performing this martial arts stretching splits exercise, don’t stretch too much at any one time and stop before you feel pain.

stretching leg issue!!?

I do yoga and once I stretched my left leg a bit more. Since then my muscle or my tendon hurts every time I do stretching. I’ve tried a bit of a paste supposed to heal it, but still hurts. Is it serious?

It is nothing serious don’t worry same thing happened to me. Jacuzzi and rubbing hurt place helps a lot if you cant get to jacuzzi than use a hot water in a tub.

How to grow taller

I’ve grown an inch and a quarter since I last measured myself? At age 45? Is it the goat’s milk?

From an article I just read:
“Another method that you can use to grow taller is exercises such as uphill sprints or squats that will work some of the bigger muscle groups. Working these muscle groups in short duration at a high intensity will no doubt facilitate the growth process.”

I have been doing squats and sprints, so maybe that’s part of the answer.

From another article:
“include plenty of protein and carbohydrate supplements in your diet before and after exercises. This will ensure that you have the right body with the best looks. Including large quantities of milk and seafood in your diet can help you a lot because; it gives your body the best way to balance the exercises.”

I’ve been doing these, too.

Leg stretching exercises ?

What is the best stretching type because I’ve heard of ballistic/dynamic? :| What is the best one or the best exercises? Especially for legs,because I will start kickboxing and I would like to work the leg flexibility

I do MMA and kickboxing and that sort of stuff and i’m really good with flexibility. I usually do all the basic stretches ( Butterfly stretch, split, side splits, touch the toes, etc.) If you can not do splits just try your best eventually you will be able too. Also if you have like a half wall you can grab on to that and hold up a kick with good form for about a minute as high as you can go, if you don’t feel this one your defiantly doing it wrong cause this one should hurt, it builds allot of muscle. You can do 100 kicks in a row and a very fast pace (make sure the kicks are as high and in your best form) in a neutral stance with your guard up this is a good cardiovascular workout and it strengthens and flexes your legs. I hope this helps you can always find more things online and even when your just watching T.V. or something you can always stretch.

what does it mean when my leg feels like its stretching?

Side Kick is one of the most powerful kick that human can do. It is widely used in martial art world. This kick can be used to crush, break, or push the opponent.

It is really recommended to do 30 minutes of leg stretching before doing any sharp kick as you can rip your leg muscle by forcing it too much. You can consult my leg stretching tutorial for some pointer.

I’m not feeling really well during the recording of the video, so i promise you, I’ll make another one with sharper and crispier kicks later on. But this video does cover the basic theory and steps you need to learn the side kick.

leg stretching machine is it worth it?

I’ve been looking into leg stretching machines for a while. I do Taekwondo and was hoping it could help with my flexibility, however considering how much they are I wonder if they are worth the investment.

Has anyone tried them? What were your results?

I have one handed down to me from my dad, it’s a side splits one, made by century. I used it a couple of times, and it’s pretty cool, but serves the same purpose as training side splits on the ground or on a wall. The best thing about the machine is it tells you the degree of your split, and it applies pressure to your inner thighs instead of on your feet like it you were using a wall. I stopped using it because it’s heavy and cumbersome to set up for only one stretch. I’ve had great results practicing side splits without the machine.
